Tony Romo's #9 jersey is the top selling sports jersey of the year. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback's jersey has sold 3.1 million units in the past year, beating out Giants QB Eli Manning and Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger.
Speaking of jerseys, the Cowboys have a new #88 on the roster in 2010...1st Round draft pick Dez Bryant. Dez is following in the hallowed footsteps of Michael Irvin and Drew Pearson.
Ukrainian heavyweight boxer Wladimir Klitschko is the IBF, WBO, and IBO World Heavyweight Champion. He successfully defended his title in a rematch against Lamon Brewster on July 7, 2007. It was later revealed that Klitschko fought with a broken finger on his right hand. In 2008, Wladimir Klitschko defeated Tony Thompson and Hasim Rahman. On June 20, 2009, Wladimir Klitschko defeated Ruslan Chagaev, stopping him in the 9th round, and improving his record to 53-3.
Wladimir Klitschko successfully defended his heavyweight title on Saturday July 12, 2008 against challenger Tony Thompson by virtue of a knockout in the 11th round. This video highlights Wladimir Klitschko's boxing career.

2009 Free Agency Begins
The 2009 NFL free agency season has begun with a bang. Defensive Tackle Albert Hainsworth signing with the Redskins for $100 million over 7 years. This seems like a gross overpayment to me. Hainsworth performed better in his contract year, which is always a bad sign...see Shaun Alexander. I don't think the Redskins will get 7 years of high productivity from the face-stomping Hainsworth. More likely they have hampered their spending power for a few years to come. Posted 2-28-09.
Brett Favre is now a Jet! The former Atlanta Falcons draft pick that went on to play 16 hall of fame caliber seasons with the Green Bay Packers has found himself as the quarterback of the New York Jets. Brett Farve retired after the 2007 season then changed his mind. But the Packers had already decided to move on and have Aaron Rodgers be their new starting quarterback. I think this will prove to be a big mistake for the Packers. Rodgers will struggle, the Packers will struggle and miss the playoffs in 2008.

Fantasy Football Advice
After week 1: Tom Brady is out for the season, sign Matt Cassell if you have space for him. Edgerrin James ran well in week one but didn't get the goal line carry and isn't expected to.
Terrell Owens cried after the loss to the Giants. I canít blame him. The fans feel the same way, and we support the QB too, and we support T.O. too. The Dallas Cowboys finished the 2007 season with a 13-3 record and home-field advantage throughout the playoff, yet were not able to win a single playoff game. They lost to the New York Giants, 21-17, in the divisional playoff round. Itís such a disappointing and stunning loss after such a remarkable season. The Cowboys were the second highest scoring team over the course of the year, but only managed a measly 17 points in this game. And this is the second year in a row that the Cowboys offense struggled down the stretch and in the playoffs. I think they will have to continue to be aggressive and keep bringing in new plays throughout the year to avoid getting predictable. Posted 01-24-08
Dallas Cowboys are signing former Miami Dolphin linebacker Zach Thomas today. Iím not sure how Zach Thomas will fit into the Cowboys 3-4 defense. Typically, in the 3-4 scheme, you want larger linebackers, which is what the Cowboys have been transitioning to ever since Bill Parcells came in 5 years ago. Thatís why Dat Nguyen and Dexter Coakley were ushered out. So, how will the 5-11 Zach Thomas work with the 3-4? We will see. Posted 02-24-08.
Former Cowboys starting tailback Julius Jones just signed with the Seattle Seahawks. Julius had some of his best games against the Seahawks in the last few years, so hopefully, he will continue his good running in Seattle. For the Cowboys, this opens up the starting running back position for Marion Barber III. We saw a taste of this in the NFC Championship game against the Giants where Barber started and took most of the carries. Now the question is, who will spell Barber? Is Tyson Thompson ready for a larger load? If Thompson can learn to block and pick up the blitzers and catch the ball out of the backfield, then he should do fine. Otherwise, the Cowboys will have to look elsewhere. Posted 3-10-08.
Pacman Jones: Rumors have it that the Cowboys are one of the teams interested in trading for Pacman Jones. The Tennessee Titans donít want him, but many other teams are interested. I donít like what Pacman has done up until now, but if he joins the Cowboys, I would hope he would change his ways. I just donít see that Pacman Jones would have that much more talent than any of the young corners coming out of college that would warrant signing him to a big contract. Posted 3-23-08.
The Glam Slam
Maria Sharapova won the 2008 Australian Open with a victory over Ana Ivanovic. This finals match was called the Glam Slam because the two finalists were so attractive. Posted 01-26-08
Redskins part ways with Gregg Williams: This was a shocker when I read this in the Sunday Post. Gregg Williams had been the defensive coordinator for the Redskins for the past four years. He did a decent job. He was the expected heir apparent to Joe Gibbs. But, I guess Dan Snyder decided to go in a different direction. Possibly, Williams resented that he wasnít designated as the new head coach much sooner, and decided to leave altogether rather than sit by and be insulted by the parade of possible head coaching candidates. Posted 01-27-08. Redskins also fire Al Saunders: Along with Gregg Williams, offensive coordinator Al Saunders has also been let go. Pete Carroll, USC, was recently interviewed for the head coaching spot. Posted 01-28-08. Redskins hire Jim Zorn as new head coach: After a long search for a new head coach that included not only coaches that were already on staff, like Gregg Williams, but also Ron Meeks, Steve Mariucci, Steve Spagnuolo, Jim Mora, and Jim Fassell, the Redskins end up hiring Jim Zorn, the man they had just hired as offensive coordinator two weeks ago. Posted 02-10-08.
Zorn on verge of being fired: Every team the Redskins have played in the first six games of 2009 have been winless coming into the game vs. Washington. Only two of those six winless teams failed to get their first win against the Redskins. The Redskins fans and media were predicting a fast start, but now stand at 2-5 after 7 weeks. Head Coach Jim Zorn is coming under heavy fire now. The team has releived him of his playcalling duties, replacing him with newly hired Sherm Lewis. Posted 10-31-09.
Jim Zorn was fired at the end of the 2009 season. Vinny Cerrato was replaced with new general manager Bruce Allen who hired Mike Shanahan as the new head coach.
I think the new Beijing Olympic Stadium looks like a flattened ball of string.
Giants VS. Patriots in Super Bowl
Giants have no shot at beating Pats. Iím saying it, even though I thought they had no shot against the Cowboys or the Packers, and look what happened. But, come on, thereís no way. The Patriots will rout them. Tom Brady, Randy Moss, and Wes Welker cannot be stopped. The New England defense will find a way to stop Eli Manning and Plaxico Burress. Posted 01-29-08. Giants beat Pats!! Go figure. They beat the 13-3 Cowboys in Dallas, then the 13-3 Packers in Lambeau, then the 18-0 Patriots in the Super Bowl. Unbelievable. Posted 02-04-08.
I canít believe the Orioles want to trade away Eric Bedard. Heís the ace of the staff. What are they thinking? Posted 02-02-08.
February 2, 2008, Brock Lesnar submitted to Frank Mirís knee bar after dominating most of the 90 second match with takedowns and ferocious punches. Lesnar had just escaped an armbar attempt when he left his leg exposed to the more experienced Mir.
July 3, 2010, Brock Lesnar submits Shane Carwin in the second round with a arm triangle choke after surviving a hard left and a flurry of punches from Carwin in the first round.
